eBook Readers

Are you thinking of buying an eBook Reader?  What is an eBook Reader?

An eBook reader is a portable electronic device that can hold about 1500 books and lets you keep favorite book titles at your fingertips. They are designed to read digital versions of books and magazines.  You can also download audiobooks to them and some are now coming out in color which would be good for children's books and some magazine formats.  While reading you can take notes and highlight passages you want to be able to find again. eBook readers are designed for easy loading, readability and convenience. They are easy to use and lightweight.

Things to consider before purchasing would be:
Design - screen size and wireless capabilities.
Content - availability of titles for your version.
Memory /Battery Life - how long can it stay on before having to recharge.
Additional Features - black and white or color, audio formats

New Hanover County Public Library has developed a comparison chart that might help you with your decision.  With some of the readers you can also download ebooks from the public library.
